Police Tactics 1 Year, 9 Months ago
please be aware where and how you put up the flyers for the mass picnic. Do not litter or break the rules, aparently you can not put them up on trees.
Read Kevin Blowe's blog on this!

Please, please don't put them on trees. It's a horrible thing to do, especially if you use drawing pins.
Oh and this is a working link to the blog post Random Blowe
The post is very interesting and well worth a read.

Today I received the police pamphlet a second time. Delivered by a beat officer. Makes you wonder whether the MET officers haven't got much better to do!

Beate, are you in Waltham Forest? No leaflets in Newham.

good use of labour, plus the police can walk a big beat .

sadly those of us in matcham road haven't had any flyers. the only reason we know what is going on is from the facebook page. even the Guardian group haven't printed much

That police website has really annoyed me. 'located away from the main residential areas'' and look at the map! Entrance and exit to be 'improved' ie made bigger.

Why no exhibition or leafleting in Newham?

I live just south of the Wanstead Flats, and have heard nothing from the Powers That Be. All the info I have is from the Newham Recorder and Face Book. No leaflets or anything.

I wonder if the police will be using earth closets, paraffin lamps, Primus stoves and semaphore? Or will the Flats be dug up to install sewerage, water, gas, electricity and communications? And, once the event is over, will they all be dug up again, or left in situ in anticipation of other events, such as the 2018 World Cup??

It's all or nothing, folks.

Re: Police Tactics 1 Year, 8 Months ago
I took a look at the Met's FAQs. It's all irrelevant. I don't care how high the fences are. I'm not interested in how many horses they want to stable, nor whether or not they'll lock up criminals at the facility. It's not important to discuss the provision of electricity for the site.

All that matters is that the spirit and the letter of the Act protecting Wanstead Flats is being bulldozed apart, just as surely as the Flats will be ploughed up if the Met and the City of London get their way.

totally agree James. It is an outrage, and I personally refuse to be bulldozed out of the way! Totally incompetent at best, or outright sinister!!
